Mr. S.B. Mathur is a qualified fellow Chartered Accountant and ICWA (Part I & II), London. He was the Chairman of LIC of India and Non-Executive Chairman of NSE Stock Exchange of India. He was appointed by the Government of India as an Administrator of Specified Undertaking of the Unit Trust of India (SUUTI) which managed funds of over 40 billion Dollars.

He served on the Boards of several reputed companies like ITC, L&T etc. for long periods.
